Listed below are some services available at our clinic.
General Physicals – annual physical exams including work related exams, sports/physical education exams, as well as female, male, and well child exams. Lab work may be included if indicated.
Acute Illness Support – immediate symptomatic relief and assessment for conditions such as headaches, colds/flu, coughs, urinary tract infections, and ear infections. Many of these conditions can be treated and alleviated by nutritional supplements, botanical remedies, and home therapies. When indicated, prescriptive medications may be prescribed.
B12 Injections – intramuscular injection of B12 to help with fatigue, and certain anemias.
Gynecological Exams- women’s health exam that includes a PAP and breast exam. These preventative screenings can aid in the early detection of cervical and breast cancer.
Nasosympatico Treatments – sinus drainage treatment to alleviate sinus congestion, infections and allergies. Swabs soaked in antibacterial aromatic oils are inserted into the nose. This procedure soothes the mucus membranes and promotes sinus drainage.
Short Wave Diathermy – applies electromagnetic frequency and deep heat to the lungs, which can help in the treatment of respiratory conditions such as bronchitis, pneumonia, chest congestion and asthma. This works by deceasing mucus viscosity and bronchial spasms and increases the local flow of air, blood and nutrients.
Ultrasound – high frequency sound waves to generate heat to ease pain and inflammation. This can also prevent scar tissue from forming after an injury as well as breaking down adhesions from old chronic injuries.
Electrical Stimulation – interferential, microcurrent-electrical stimulation of the muscles helps to maintain muscle nutrition. This can promote blood flow through the tissue which helps cellular exchange of nutrients and oxygen, decreases pain, promotes healing, strengthens healthy muscles and improves mobility of the tissue/ muscles. Electrical stimulation can also be used with acupuncture.
Hydroculator Packs and Heat Therapy – local application of moist or dry heat to increase blood flow to muscles and joints. This will decrease muscle tension and spasms which also reduces inflammation and pain. The end result increases range of motion and muscle function and promotes relaxation.
Neuromuscular Re-education – series of alternating muscle stretching and contraction, which lengthens muscles, increases range of motion and decreases pain.
Acupuncture – acupuncture needles are inserted into points along the meridians to stimulate the Qi (energy) of the body. Each point has a predictable effect on the Qi that is moving through it. The points chosen by the practitioner are based on symptom picture as well as pulse and tongue diagnosis. We use only sterile, disposable needles of finest quality to ensure our patients’ satisfaction and eliminate infection.
Electrical stimulation – interferential microcurrent-electrical stimulation of the muscles to help maintain muscle nutrition. This promotes blood flow through the tissue which helps cellular exchange of nutrients, decreases pain, promotes healing, strengthens healthy muscles and improves mobility of the tissue/muscles. Electrical simulation is also used for injury rehabilitation and can be combined with traditional acupuncture.
Cupping Therapy - local suction is created on the skin that is used to mobilize blood flow in order to promote healing.
Tui Na – a Chinese form of massage therapy for tight muscles used in conjunction with traditional acupuncture.
Adrenal Testing – (Adrenal Stress Index) - An abnormal adrenal function can cause decreased energy, insomnia,
poor memory, diminished bone density, poor immune system (frequent cold/flu), abnormal thyroid function, weight concerns, food allergies, irritable bowel syndrome, migraine headaches, irritability and chronic muscle and joint pain. This is not a blood draw, but a simple non-invasive 24hr. salvia test that maps your adrenal rhythm.
Chemical Toxicity Assessment – Acute or chronic exposure to synthetic chemicals can have a long term effect on all body systems, especially immune, neurological and digestive health. Identification and elimination of these chemicals can decrease or reverse many symptoms and increase your well being. Some of the following tests can be used in the assessment:
• Heavy metal testing
• Solvent and pesticide testing
• Comprehensive liver detox panel
Comprehensive Cardiovascular Test (Advanced Lipid Profile) – Almost half of all heart attacks occur in people with “normal” total cholesterol levels. We use this state of the art cardiovascular assessment test to increase detection of at-risk patients. A standard lipid panel includes HDL, LDL, total cholesterol, HDL/LDL ratios, and triglycerides. In addition, more advanced markers are used to increase detection of at-risk patients: homocysteine, lipoprotein (a), Apo A1, Apo B, fibrinogen and C-reactive protein. With this information, we can custom design a prevention program to improve your quality of life.
Coronary Calcium Score- We refer out to have an image of your heart taken to evaluate percentage of arterial calcification correlated with advanced cardiovascular risk.
Food Allergy / Sensitivity Test - This blood tests looks for possible reactions to 115 common foods. This lab test is an IgG immune sensitivity test. Food allergies can be an underlying cause to many chronic health conditions including irritable bowel syndrome, chronic stomach and intestinal pain, abdominal cramps, fatigue, muscle and joint pain, just to name a few.
Female Hormone Panel - Many women suffer from hormonal imbalances. A simple non-invasive saliva test collected throughout the menstrual cycle allows us to view your profile of estrogen and progesterone, taking the guess work out of your menstrual cycle. We utilize this information to design a customized treatment plan to relieve hormone imbalances, and/or PMS related symptoms. Other panels are available using blood and/or urine.
Gastrointestinal Panel – Combination of stool, blood and saliva test for parasites, yeast, bacteria, and other causes of digestive dysfunction.
Individualized Fasting Amino Acid Profile – Amino acids are the back bone to our neurotransmitters, hormones, enzymes, and all connective tissue. This test will allow the doctors to customize an amino acid formula specific for your biochemistry.
Neurotransmitter Testing - Neurotransmitter and endocrine imbalance can contribute to depression, anxiety, fatigue, and a host of other symptoms. This simple urine and saliva test can determine your levels of serotonin, GABA, dopamine, epinephrine, and other neurotransmitters.
Standard Metabolic Panel – A general health screening test that typically includes liver enzymes, kidney function, electrolytes, red and white blood cells, anemia, vitamin D, cholesterol and glucose. This is usually done as a fasting test.
Thyroid – Comprehensive panel that tests TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone), T3, T4, and rT3. We also test TPO (anti-thyroid peroxidase antibodies) and ATG (anti-thyroglobulin) in order to rule out autoimmune thyroid disease, such as Hashimoto’s and Graves disease.
SpectraCell Micronutrient Test – This panel is used to test white blood cells for vitamin and mineral stores. Based on the lab results, we can come up with a treatment plan to correct nutrient imbalances.
